Warm Pacific Greetings and welcome to the Pacific Health Communications page.


Purpose:

The purpose of this service is to create, coordinate and deliver appropriate radio programming to ensure information about Pacific health issues, and the availability of Pacific health services and programmes, are promoted to Pacific communities in their own languages.

The objectives of this service are:

 

  • To deliver quality health promotion information to local pacific communities through radio programming, in line with local, regional and national health promotion programmes;
  • To promote messages about nutrition and physical activity to Pacific communities, in alignment with national HEHA strategy;
  • To provide opportunities for the Pacific population within the C&CDHB district to relay issues and concerns regarding health services;
  • To engage with Pacific communities to develop a communication programme that will respond to the needs of the community;
  • To provide the Pacific community with key information regarding any potential changes to the health system;
  • To disseminate messages that the DHB wishes to have communicated; and;
  • To promote local Pacific and other health services.

Fellowship

 

The Aniva Witirea Pacific Nursing Leaders Fellowship Is a programme funded by the Ministry of Health to provide development opportunities for up to 30 Pacific Nurses. This programme supports the leadership and workforce development through a programme of study based on the research of health care delivery, with a focus on Pacific Health.
